By the end of this program participants will demonstrate the ability to hire and retain the highly qualified employee; provide programs to keep the employee cognizant of the expectations of his/her district for student achievement.Program Format
- Identify the highly qualified applicant and hire the candidate
- Ascertain that the administrator at the school level has the highly qualified individual assigned to their teaching area of expertise and endorsement
- Involve the district staff employee, who validates teacher licensure, insures that the candidate is highly qualified for the teaching assignment
- Incorporate a committed mentor program that gives support to the new employee
- Incorporate a successful staff development program that provides the workshops and courses needed by staff to enhance their instructional programs
- Licensure staff employee provides leadership to advisors on status of the teaching license of license holders
- Licensure staff employee communicates revisions in the license information from the Department of Education to advisor
