Training for the Emerging Leader: School Leaders Licensure Assessment (SLLA) Preparation | The Urban Learning and Leadership Center, Inc. (ULLC)

Program Description

The SLLA Preparation Course is designed to help participants become familiar with and demonstrate the standards-relevant knowledge deemed necessary for competent professional practice as a school principal. As the rigor of state accountability measures increase, schools must focus their efforts to achieve and sustain academic excellence. Our approach is designed to assist schools along a vast performance continuum, from schools that are struggling to schools that are exceeding performance standards.

Virginia Standard(s) Addressed

This SLLA Preparation Course is grounded in the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) Standards for School Leaders. Through intensive and engaging instructional design, session leaders will guide participants through each of the Virginia Standards for Administrators.

Program Goals and Objectives

By the end of this program participants will demonstrate the ability to successfully complete each of the four sections of the 6-hour School Leaders Licensure Assessment and infuse this knowledge into their daily professional practice as school leaders.

Program Format

Dynamic instructional design will be used to deliver this important content. Participants will be exposed to sample SLLA items in a manner developed to simulate the actual test-taking experience. Additionally, participants will be involved in real-life simulations of the daily challenges faced by school principals. The sessions are devoted to the study of the six ISLLC Standards as indicated below:
