Virginia Foundation for Educational Leadership Conference | Virginia Association of Secondary School Principals (VASSP) and Virginia Foundation for Educational Leadership (VFEL)
Program Description
This two-day conference provides school administrators with opportunities to interact with other principals and educational leaders in a summit format that encourages dialogue, policy discussion, and effective planning.

Program Goals and Objectives
By the end of this program, participants will learn how to:
- demonstrate inquiry about current trends and issues as they pertain to educational leadership.
- enhance leadership skills that will be responsive to the ethical, political, legal, social and cultural forces in society that impact public schools.
- expand knowledge of principles of organizational development, action research, and assessment practices to enhance school climate and student achievement.
Program Format
Large group presentations, small group discussion, and reflective dialogue with identified speakers associated with VASSP, VFEL, and the Virginia Department of Education.
Target Audience
Middle and high school administrators and central office staff working with secondary schools.
Self-Selection and/or Identification Through School Division
Participants may self-select to attend or they may be identified by the school division to attend.
Duration of Program
Two-day conference.
Outcomes Measured
Outcomes are measured by the school divisions that support the attendance of the participants.
Program Evaluation
Each participant completes a conference evaluation form providing feedback to VASSP and VFEL for use in future conferences.
