Program Description
This three- to five-day camp teaches principles of effective leadership and provides practical experience in applying these principles.

Program Goals and Objectives
By the end of this program, participants will learn how to:
- develop effective interpersonal and teambuilding skills.
- demonstrate leadership skills for goal setting, effective meeting management, and parliamentary procedure.
- exhibit useful techniques for time management, communication, and public relations.
Program Format
Camps are held separately for elementary, middle, and high school students. Large group presentations and smaller "council" sessions will be led by nationally recognized consultants.
Target Audience
All student leaders who will be involved in student council or club leadership roles should attend this camp.
Self-Selection and/or Identification Through School Division
Participants may be identified by the school to attend the camps.
Duration of Program
Three to five days.
Outcomes Measured
Outcomes are measured by the school divisions that support the attendance of the participants.
Program Evaluation
Each participant completes a conference evaluation form providing feedback to the Department of Student Leadership at VASSP and VSCA for use in future conferences.
